This place was lovely for dinner with family! Really appreciated the dog free area for my dad with a fur allergy :) The food was delicious and service was so friendly, this pub had such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The homemade chips were some of the best I’ve ever had! Also attached is my tap water lol
Food was OK. Still feel hungry after £13.75 worth of burger... food came out pretty fast but I don't think the restaurant is busy right now. Staff didn't bother us when we had a mouthful of food but came out after to ask if we wanted desert. I don't like being bothered when I'm eating so I was happy with that.
The location is amazing as it sits right on a fast flowing river. Parking was easy too.
The fence around the river is pretty safe if you have little ones. Not much chance of them falling in or anything allowing parents to relax a little while enjoying the atmosphere.
Overall I'd recommend this place for food and drinks.
We stayed at a nearby caravan site just a short walk along the river for 8 nights and visited The Ysgethin Inn twice. Both time we experienced great fast service and good food and drink. If you are staying local I would say its definitely worth a visit.
Not that we used it but has got a lovely big children's play area outside and plenty of seating away from play area if you are visiting without children.
A pub with one of the most impressive beer gardens I've seen. You can sit by a beautiful ( and often very noisy) river.
Fair beer selection too
Called in earlier in the day for a drink after some nice walking round the area and liked it enough to return for an evening meal. We ordered side dishes as a starter and this was no problem for the staff even though they had starter dishes on the menu. I was stunned at the size of the portion for a side (4 large slices of loaded cheesy garlic ciabatta and proper onion rings) and my response to my wife was " you won't eat your main will you"
The mains came when we asked, not when they decided and these portions were a great size too, the rustic fries were some of the nicest I had eaten in a long time. All in all a great evening for our very low key anniversary meal. Thank you and see you next year
Loved this place! So friendly! A good old country pub with plenty of locals. I would go here all the time if I lived here!
Great atmosphere and lovely food....the chips are amazing!
Called in on Saturday evening (11 of us), and they fitted us in on two separate tables. The gentleman waited at the table while I got the rest of the party. The food was lovely. Burgers were amazing. Steak and Guinness was delicious (beef was tender and good quality).
Chips were a favourite with everyone.
Only gripe was paying £3.50 for a bottle of alcohol free Heineken (roughly £7 a pint). Not too dissimilar to other places I know, but still ridiculous when out into context.
However, we will be returning later in the week for another meal as overall, the experience was fabulous. Great service. Amazing food. Good atmosphere.
Plenty of parking.
River running next to the restaurant (incredible).
Kids park at rear.
5/5
